After a very dry spell, I am beginning to write some poems again. I'm not happy with the results yet. I like plays on words and there isn't really any of that here. But keeping at it is re-opening doors to renewed creativity. Here is the first thing I have written in ages... written just after the last full moon, before other important events. It's more like a meditation... Posted for self-encouragement.
Autumn's Fall, Moon's Rising
The Moon rises on the right,
winds rise from the left.
Draped over my shoulders...
an oversized layer of invisible feathers
limiting the night's chill
to cool kisses
on pinkening cheeks.
Soft white dreamy clouds
lit up by the Moon's reflection
initiate reflections of my own.
Dreaming dreams...
of what to dream of
when all dreams
have come to be
What would Our Dream be
when already in paradise ?
Resurretion of timelessness...
dismemberment
into eternal membership
with one and All...
Leaf, you have been painted
with my colors.
Tree, I am you, you are me.
'Till death do us part
from the illusion of apartness
No,
I am not falling...
I am rising in love
over and over again
like the Moon
Transformed
I am a hawk in the night
who,
taking flight from my own sleeve
from my own branch
rises on the breath
of the wolf's howl of longing...
I see the light of the Father
I feel the love of the Mother
his shine and her touch
joined in the moon's
reflection and gravity.
And suddenly
the whole sky opens
to the single star
that all stars point to.
I release my breath
I let go, I let go
and float down to earth
a leaf in full color
filled with dreams
sufficient unto Oneself,
Ourself.
